Me at 15-16.  Look how little I was!  Aww!
That’s my niece and sister, too.

Some people believe…

… that their allegence to an elected official will fix the world, but they are wrong.

Some believe that faith in God will save the world, but they are mistaken.

Some think staying true to themselves will fix all conflict, but that is a lie.

The only way for us to truly make tomorrow a better day?

Is to force girls on the internet to stop taking utterly retarded pictures of their hands on their hips, tongues out, with their cell phones in a bathroom mirror.

Only then shall we have peace.

Someone on 4chan volunteered to draw me.

Not bad!!

As a Man Thinketh

So, I believe God has been teaching me a lot based on this bit from a verse in Proverbs.  The KJV is not my preferred version, but for some reason, God has really used it’s translation of this verse to really teach me.

“For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
-Proverbs 23:7a

What does that mean?  Let’s look at Tumblr, and the attitude many people have on here.

One thing that makes me absolutely never want to come back here is the attitude many people seem to take on when posting on here, even people I know or people I don’t know well, but believe to have a generally positive attitude… unless they’re on Tumblr.  The general ‘feeling sorry for myself’ attitude and ‘woe is me’ persona that most users seem to take on here is… like a vacuum.

I believe that God is really teaching me about attitude.  As a man thinks, so he is.  Think about it.  You are what you think.  What a concept, huh?

These are the words I believe God has given me.  I don’t claim to be a prophet; to do so would be unbiblical.  To claim this is the ‘Word of God’ would also be unbiblical.  Beware of false prophets, friends.  But, sometimes, the Lord will absolutely tell us things, personally, and I would like to share with you what I believe He said.

Your attitude determines your reality.

What a concept, huh?  My attitude determines what goes on in my life.  Obviously, not in a supernatural sense, but in a practical sense.  My attitude determines the outcome.

If I go through my day feeling sorry for myself, feeling lonely, feeling sad, feeling dreadful, guess how my day is going to go?  If I decide to post on the internet depressing gifs and tag it with ‘GPOY’ (Oh, gosh, 95% of you are guilty of this), how can I expect anything to change?  It’s like trying to put a fire out by pouring gasoline on it.

Not only is it going to make things worse, but, according to scripture, it is a sin.

If the way we think determines who we are, how does God tell us to think?

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”     (Phillipians 4:8)

We are told, by God, to focus on truth.  Honor.  Justice.  Purity.  Love.  Commendable behavior and attitudes.  Excellence.  Anything worthy of praise; anything good.  We are to think about these things, and according to Proverbs, we are to be these things.

So, why do we continue to be so self-loathing?  So sad?  So depressing?  Why don’t we want to be better?  We act like ‘Oh, boo, it’s so awful being sad’ but the way we behave… we love it.

We love the attention.  We love being placed on a pedestal.  Like a child whining because they want attention, we will behave in such a depressing manner so we can get a little bit of attention from people asking us ‘Aww, what’s wrong?  Can I pray for you?

Truth is, NO, don’t pray for me!  I don’t want to get better.  God can heal me, but I like the attention.

When, the fact of the matter is, God will lavish attention onto you, if you seek Him.  He will make you a Prince or Princess in His own Kingdom.  I’m not saying He will fix everything in your life, but your attitude is a way of saying ‘I am focusing on God, and not the pain.  Not the depression.  Not the badness.’

If we continue to feel sorry for ourselves, guess what?  We will be sorry people.

If we focus on what it good, lovely, pure, excellent, we will open our hearts to the Lord for Him to father us; to love us.  To help us, and to save us.

As a man thinketh, so is he.

You determine your reality.

I have a generally negative body image.  I mean really.  Yes, girls, it happens to guys, too.  A lot more than you probably think.

But we took some quick photos today, and I looked pretty good.

And that made me feel good.

I manage to look like an emo/creeper/douche sometimes.
